Question 5

The Inventory Status by Product Category Report is definitely a subject-based table.
The data is sort by different product category: children, hybird, leisure, mtn and roads. The data will only appear one time in the report to reduce redundance and duplication. Its therefore shows a clear picture to the viewer on the inventory status.

The status report also accommodate the data processing and reporting needs. The report has coloum in product name, company name, selling price, qty on hand, recorder level. These are the major information that the management need to know for decision making. Qty on hand and reorder level shows whether the company need to recoder or not in the near future.

  1. Hi Anna ! When you mentioned that "The Inventory Status by Product Category Report is definitely a subject-based table.
The data is sort by different product category: children, hybird, leisure, mtn and roads....", you are referring to the report that we created using the Report Wizard. This is not a table.

It is the underlying tables (the source of data for the report) which are subject-based. The two tables used as the underlying report data are Product and Supplier, where each table focuses on a single subject only.

It's correct that the Inventory Status report (built using the Report Wizard) is able to present information in a processed and organized manner that is more meaningful to management.
